The Tours
The semi-professional and professional tennis circuits comprise a number of levels. For the purposes of tennis trading, I would suggest a focus on the highest level of tennis .
There are 5 main tennis tours . I list them below.

The men’s ATP Tour is integrated with the ATP Challenger Tour and the ITF Men’s Circuit as a single ranking system – the ATP Rankings.
Those men ranked outside of the top 180 compete on the ATP Challenger Tour and ITF Men’s Circuit. Most players ranked outside of the top 400 must compete in the ITF Men’s Circuit.
For Women, a player’s results on both the WTA Tour and ITF Women’s Circuit will determine her WTA Ranking.

The Grand Slams.
It is important to remember the unique layout for Grand Slam events, particularly as it pertains to men’s tennis.
There are 4 Grand Slam Tournaments each year. Australia typically begins the year. The next Grand Slam is the French Open, then Wimbledon and then the US Open. These latter 3 Grand Slams fall into a small band of time between May and September.
Men’s Grand Slam tennis is the best of 5 sets. Typically, in other events, it is the best of 3 sets.
The unique best of 5 sets set-up really is a boon for us tennis traders. There are specific strategies unique to 5 set-play which I focus upon in a separate chapter.
