English Premier League

20:00 – Crystal Palace v Brighton – 2.05 Brighton

  • Only 1 win in 10 matches for Palace. 4 consecutive home defeats. Both teams scored in 6 of ther last 8 matches.
  • Palace never led at halftime at home.
  • Only 1 home win .10/12 goals conceded at home came 2nd half. 6/7 goals scored at home came 2nd half
  • Only 2 wins in 11 matches for Brighton. Loss, Loss, Draw, Loss, Loss away recently. Brighton failed to score and therefore failed both teams to score for the first team last match.
  • Brighton have conceded in the last 17 matches – that’s the negative about both teams to score yes patterns of course.
  • 15th v 9th, Brighton are unbeaten home and away v 11th and lower.
  • Angles? Both teams to score might just resurrect for Brighton given Palace have scored and conceded in 6/8 matches.
  • Very strong 2nd half scoring patterns in Palace matches. Brighton are still conceding but can you trust Palace who don’t fill us with confidence

English League 1

19:45 – Derby v Lincoln City – 1.50 Derby

  • A rare excursion into researching English League 1
  • Derby are unbeaten in 6 and in 8 at home. 6th v 9th, they have only lost 2 matches home and away v teams below them in the league.
  • 5/7 goals conceded at home came 2nd half
  • 3 draws in 4 matches for Lincoln. Lincoln have kept 3 consecutive away clean sheets.
  • All defeats bar 1 for Lincoln came v the top 5. They failed to score in 4 of those matches. 9/12 goals conceded away came 2nd half. 9 goals in total last 15 mins away.
  • Angles? Derby had better hope that Lincoln’s near exclusive losses to top 5 teams extends to 6th. Both teams look in good recent form.
  • Do expect 2nd half goals. Possible 75th+ minute action in Lincoln away matches, both scoring and conceding.

Spanish La Liga Primera

18:00 – Cadiz v Real Sociedad – 1.80 Real Sociedad

  • Only 2 wins for Cadiz. 4 consecutive 1-1 draws
  • No win in 13 , conceding last 10 matches.
  • 17th v 6th, Cadiz are yet to play 3rd-10th at home. Big gap in form.
  • 6/8 goals scored at home came 1st half. 6/9 goals conceded at home 2nd half.
  • Only 3 defeats for Real Sociedad. Unbeaten in 5 and a draw, win, draw, win away.
  • Sociedad have scored in their last 7 away matches.Sociedad are unbeaten home and away v 5th and lower.
  • 6 goals scored last 15 mins of the first half away.
  • Angles? Cadiz lack that winning touch. If they score first, given the score draw-itis, they are layable. Sociedad are having an excellent season, have scored last 7 away matches and are unbeaten home and away v 5th and lower.

18:00 – Real Betis v Girona – 2.37 Girona

  • Only 2 losses away for Betis who are unbeaten since 24th September.
  • 3 consecutive draws. 4 consecutive home wins and a draw last 5 at home.
  • No defeat in 8 at home, scoring last 7 at home.
  • Betis are yet to beat a top 6 side home or away.
  • Girona have only 1 loss. 8 wins in 9 matches ….and I stop there.
  • I would favour Girona but the market cannot immediately dismiss Real Betis given only 2 defeats all season. Remember, please, 2.37 the favourite suggests a toughie.

20:30 – Alaves v Real Madrid – 1.50 Real Madrid

  • Only 4 wins came at home. Draw, Win, Win, Loss at home recently.
  • Alaves have failed to score last 3 matches.
  • 14th v 2nd, Alaves have lost all matches v the top 5.
  • 60% of goals at home came 1st half.
  • Only 1 loss for Real Madrid came v Atletico Madrid. They have failed to score in only one match. Real have scored last 9 away.
  • Angles? Real Madrid are tough to score 2 goals against. So if Alaves score first, they are unlikely to follow up with a 2nd consecutive goal. 60% of Alaves first half goals came 1st half – remember that if 0-0 after 20 minutes. Alaves are in ok form but significantly lose , and concede 2+ goals v the top 5.

20:30 – Mallorca v Osasuna – 2.25 Mallorca

  • 6 draws and a win at home for Mallorca, not losing but not maximising returns from an unbeaten run.
  • 9 consecutive under 2.5 goals matches suggests the Mallorca tactic. The old 1-0! They did fail to score in 6 of their last 8 matches.
  • Only 1 home loss was a 0-1.
  • 16th v 12th, all 5 home goals scored first half.
  • 5 wins for Osasuna all season. No win in 4 away, scored and conceded last 3 away. Scored last 8 matches.
  • All 5 Osasuna wins came v 10th and lower, 3 away scoring 2 goals.
  • 10/14 goals conceded away came 2nd half. 7/11 goals scored away came 2nd half.
  • Angles? Expect a tight match from Mallorca and a hope for a 1-0 but Osasuna may be a bigger threat as their 3 wins, scoring 2 goals v 10th and lower away attests. Can Mallorca keep Osasuna to 1 goal max? Mallorca layable if leading for me.
