www.footballtradingprofits.com Eletter Premier League Review 17th October 2026

Welcome to the Football Trading Profits Premier League Review.

There’s no need to change last weekend’s lead image given this is a unique Sandwich weekend for managers. Coming off the back of European Club Competition, they now have to aim for 3 points in domestic action and then return to another European Club Competition encounter, with the Champions League, Europa League and Europa Conference League becoming increasing more important to teams.

Premier League Research

This Saturday I have researched matches manually, but over the coming weeks, we will be researching the English Premier league via the Trading Tool Apps found at the main Football Trading Profits App. So each week, a different app will tackle the league, and we can get a flavour for the different types of research.

With so few matches under our belts, this manual research is the best approach. First thing I do is make sure I know who is playing in Europe!! They may falter today. I then look at each team individually, paying attention to standout patterns such as draws, clean sheets, 0-0’s at halftime as you see with Everton.

In the Angles section, I assess the limited form from a trader’s perspective. Do we expect a goal before halftime ? ( that could be good for an over 2.5 goals trade). Is there a strong 2nd half scoring angle? is Both teams to score a strong pattern for both teams?

PREMIER LEAGUE – England

12:30 Everton v Chelsea – 3.24 / 3.88 / 2.23

  • Everton : Unbeaten ; 4 draws in 5 matches ; 2/3 home clean sheets ; 3/4 recent 0-0 at halftime
  • Chelsea ; 2 consecutive away defeats to London opponents ; 100% over 2.5 goals ; 5/6 Both teams to score ; 3-4-2-3-0-2 goals before halftime
  • Angles; incongruous 0-0’s at halftime Everton v 2+ goals before halftime Chelsea. 100% over 2.5 goals Chelsea cannot be ignored and they do tend towards both teams to score. Tough to read Moyes tactics. Aim for a 1-0? Or continue their recent 2 goal scoring habit. Based on Chelsea, goal before halftime, overs, both teams to score.

15:00 Brentford v Liverpool – 2.51 / 3.74 / 2.87

  • Brentford : Unbeaten but like Everton 4/5 draws recently , all score draws ; 2-3-2 goals scored in recent matches ;
  • Liverpool : first loss last match v Man City. Gakpo and Isak absent ; 2 consecutive away clean sheet wins ; 3 consecutive 0-0’s at halftime
  • Angles: tough to read the Reds post and pre Champions League. Check for team news for Liverpool. A blunted attack post International break did not hinder them v LASK Linz. Brentford are on a 2+ goal run and could arguably score today.

15:00 Fulham v Hull – 1.77 / 4.05 / 4.93

  • Fulham : No win ; BTTS all home matches ; 4 0-0 in 5 matches at halftime ;
  • Hull : Only 1 defeat away v Newcastle last match. No win in 4 ; Scored 2 goals 3 times and only won one ; failed to score only once.
  • Angles : as with Fulham’s match v Ipswich, both teams I feel will fancy 3 points v fellow ‘strugglers’ Hull could score, they are scoring and Fulham have a both teams to score pattern at home. Watch for 2nd half action given the strong 0-0 at halftime Fulham pattern. Question: Are Hull vulnerable if leading by 2 goals?

15:00 Manchester City v Ipswich – 1.26 / 7.26 / 11.50

  • man City: 100% wins ; 8 goals scored in 2 matches ; 3/4 clean sheets ;
  • Ipswich ; No draw ; LWL away ; played Liverpool and Man Utd and lost, so inference is same today;
  • Angles : Man City come after losing Champions League so may have distraction but have the squad to do to Ipswich what Liverpool and Man Utd have already done!

17:30 Newcastle v Aston Villa – 2.26 / 3.86 / 3.19

  • Both teams involved in Europe
  • Newcastle : score 2 at home, both teams score in all, goals befoire halftime ; when BTTS , only 1 win!!
  • Aston Villa ; BTTS last 3 and Villa scoring 2 goals consistently last 2.
  • Angles: both teams to score on the horizon in a post and pre European encounter. Villa to target 2 goals again?
